Safety

I need help right now. What should I do? If you or someone you love needs help right now, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7. For Washington State crisis resources, you can view the directory of mental health crisis lines here: https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-care/i-need-behavioral-health-support/mental-health-crisis-lines For substance use, problem gambling, or mental health support, contact the Washington Recovery Help Line at 866-789-1511: https://www.warecoveryhelpline.org/

Getting Started

Do you accept my health insurance? We are in-network with many major insurance plans in Washington State, including Aetna, Cigna, First Choice, Premera Blue Cross, Regence Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare, as well as many state plans such as Medicaid (Wellpoint and Coordinated Care) and Medicare. Because coverage varies by plan, we encourage patients to confirm benefits directly with their insurance provider.

How do I schedule an appointment? You can schedule directly online by clicking “Book Online.” If you have questions before scheduling, you can also contact our office. Many common questions are answered on the Policies and FAQ pages.

How soon can I be seen? New patient appointments are often available within 1–2 weeks, depending on scheduling availability. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency department of your local hospital.

What is your cancellation policy? Appointments must be canceled at least one full business day in advance (24 hours not including weekends or holidays). Late cancellations and missed appointments may result in a $100 fee. For full details, please review our Policies page.

How do I prepare for my virtual (telehealth) visit? For telehealth appointments, please ensure you have: A quiet, private location A reliable internet connection Working video and microphone Good lighting (face visible) We also ask that all intake forms and screeners are completed prior to your appointment so we can make the most of your time.

Treatment & Follow-Ups

How frequently are follow-up appointments scheduled? Follow-up frequency is individualized based on your symptoms, treatment plan, and progress. Many patients start with follow-ups every 3–4 weeks, then move to less frequent visits as symptoms stabilize. Most patients begin to notice improvement within 1–3 months, depending on the condition and treatment approach. To continue receiving prescription refills and ongoing care, routine follow-up appointments are required. In many cases, visits occur at least every 3 months once treatment is stable.

What if I already have a therapist? That is completely okay. Many patients work with both a therapist and a psychiatric provider. I can manage the medical aspects of your care (including medication management), and you can continue meeting with your therapist. With your permission, we can coordinate care to support consistent treatment planning.

Do you offer a sliding fee scale? At this time, we do not offer a sliding scale. This helps ensure policies and pricing remain consistent and fair across all patients.

Medications & Specialized Care

Do you prescribe controlled medications (such as stimulants or benzodiazepines)? Controlled medications may be prescribed on a case-by-case basis when clinically appropriate and safe. This may include medications such as: Stimulants (ex: Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin) Benzodiazepines (ex: Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium) Certain prescription sleep medications In some cases, additional steps may be required, such as reviewing prior records, completing screening tools, and/or appropriate monitoring.

What is medication-assisted treatment (MAT)? Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) refers to the use of FDA-approved medications alongside therapy and recovery support to treat substance use disorders. Research shows that combining medication with behavioral therapy can improve outcomes and support long-term recovery. In this practice, MAT options may include: Medications for Alcohol Use Disorder (MAUD): Acamprosate, Disulfiram, Naltrexone
